Terms of Service
Operational terms for HomeHop Moving quote requests, confirmed bookings and services in British Columbia.
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Business identity and contact
HomeHop Moving provides moving, pickup and delivery, and select trailer relocation. General enquiries may be sent to [email protected] and customer-support enquiries to [email protected].
Service scope
HomeHop provides residential moving, apartment and condo moving, small and single-item moves, furniture and appliance delivery, Marketplace and store pickup, loading and unloading help, small and medium office moves by quote, and select roadworthy bumper-pull trailer transport. HomeHop is not an industrial or enterprise-scale commercial mover.
Quote request vs confirmed booking
A website submission is a request only. A booking exists only after HomeHop confirms the service scope, price, date and relevant terms in writing.
Starting and hourly pricing
Starting flat rates apply only to straightforward local jobs with standard access. Standard moving service is billed at the confirmed crew rate with a two-hour minimum and 15-minute increments after the minimum. Hourly labour begins when the crew arrives at pickup and ends when the agreed moving work is complete.
Customer-provided information
Customers must provide accurate item, weight, route, access, timing, documentation and contact information. Photos should accurately represent the items and conditions.
Scope changes
The quote or service plan may change if the actual items, weight, access, route, labour, waiting time, additional stops, equipment or condition differs from the submitted information. Any material change is discussed before added work proceeds.
Access and preparation
Customers are responsible for arranging parking, loading areas, elevators, building windows, seller or store release, safe entry and suitable access at the scheduled time.
Service limitations
Crew size and vehicle capacity are selected based on the confirmed move. Larger moving-truck capacity and additional crew may be arranged for bigger moves. HomeHop may decline work that exceeds confirmed equipment, staffing, legal limits or safe-handling capacity, or that cannot be completed safely.
Payment methods and timing
Current payment methods are cash and e-transfer. Payment is due immediately after the service is completed unless different terms are stated in the confirmed quote.
Travel and third-party expenses
Hourly moving travel is confirmed separately before booking and covers operating travel, fuel and vehicle time for the booked route. Approved parking, toll, ferry, permit or building costs are charged at actual cost where relevant and identified in the confirmed quote.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Customers should provide at least 24 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling. Late cancellations, same-day changes, failed pickups or unavailable access may result in a fee where costs have already been incurred. Any applicable fee will be disclosed before the booking is confirmed. Rescheduling is subject to availability and no replacement slot is guaranteed.
HomeHop cancellation
If HomeHop cancels and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, customer payments relating to the cancelled service should be refunded and no cancellation fee applies.
Waiting and failed pickup
Customers are responsible for ensuring that items, sellers, stores, elevators, loading areas and property access are ready at the scheduled time. A grace period of up to 15 minutes may be allowed where practical. One-mover waiting is $20 per 15 minutes; hourly moving waiting is billed at the booked crew rate in 15-minute increments. Any applicable charge is discussed before it is added.
Parking, ferries, tolls and building fees
Known third-party route and access costs are identified in the confirmed quote where possible. Customer-controlled bookings and permissions remain the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
Customer-packed items
Customers are responsible for safe packing, closing boxes, removing loose contents and identifying fragile or high-value items. HomeHop may decline visibly unsafe packing.
Appliance preparation
Appliances must be empty, secured and safely disconnected before transport. Standard service does not include plumbing, gas or electrical disconnection or installation.
Heavy, fragile and restricted items
Pianos, extremely heavy safes, pool tables, commercial machinery, firearms or ammunition, hazardous materials, fuel, leaking machinery, unsafe chemicals and items beyond available equipment require prior approval or may be declined. Illegal goods are not accepted.
Trailer eligibility and documentation
Trailer transport is subject to specification, roadworthiness, route and equipment review. Customers must accurately disclose weights, dimensions, hitch, brakes, lights, tires, load status, registration and insurance status. Non-roadworthy trailers, disabled vehicles, accident recovery and unsupported oversized loads are not accepted.
Weather, traffic and unsafe conditions
Service may be delayed, changed or stopped when weather, traffic, access, road conditions or another safety concern makes the work unsuitable.
Delays outside reasonable control
HomeHop is not responsible for unavoidable delay caused by traffic, ferry interruption, road closure, building access, weather, customer or third-party readiness, or other events outside reasonable control, but will communicate material changes.
Damage reporting and review
Visible damage or loss should be reported as soon as reasonably possible after service, with photos and relevant details. HomeHop will review the circumstances based on the confirmed scope, customer preparation, applicable coverage and British Columbia law.
Private photo uploads
Quote photos are stored privately and accessed by authorized staff through short-lived links. Do not upload unrelated sensitive information.
Communication consent
By submitting a request, the customer consents to service-related calls, texts or emails using the supplied contact details. This is not consent to advertising messages.
British Columbia law and statutory rights
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable Canadian law. Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
